How to Get a YouTube Video ID from a Link
You can find a YouTube video ID two ways: through the YouTube app or through your browser.
Find a YouTube Video ID in the YouTube App
- Open the YouTube app.
- Open the video you want.
- Tap Share, then select Copy Link.
- The link is now copied to your clipboard.
- Paste it anywhere.
- The video ID is the part after the last slash (
/).
Example: In https://youtu.be/30KqRUvegu4, the video ID is 30KqRUvegu4.
Find a YouTube Video ID in Your Browser
- Go to the YouTube video.
- Copy the URL from the address bar, for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGwWNGJdvx8. - The video ID is the part after
?v=, up to any&symbol. - For short links like
https://youtu.be/JGwWNGJdvx8, the ID is the part after the last slash and before any&.
